This past weekend I took possession of this, a Canadian Tilt-Tension Production Wheel (CPW) :
Made by this man:
It has a pretty treadle:
This wheel dates between 1843 and 1903. It needs cleaning and oiling, could use extra bobbins, and replacement of a couple of non-original parts, but otherwise spins fine (and I do mean fine, these wheels were meant to spin fast and fine). There is a group on Ravelry devoted to these wheels. I look forward to learning more about this wheel and bringing it back closer to its original glory.
Happy knitting,
Kelly
